Watching their daughter crowned at the national beauty pageant finals on 27/6 in Hue, Mr. Ha Van Phuc and his wife, Mrs. Bui Thi Thu Hang, were overjoyed. They initially predicted Truc Linh would reach the top 10 or top 5. When the emcee announced their daughter as Miss Vietnam, Mrs. Hang burst into tears.
Before the final night, the couple and some relatives traveled by train from Phu Yen to Hue to support Truc Linh. Both are elementary school teachers and unfamiliar with entertainment events. When Truc Linh told them about her intention to compete, Mr. Phuc advised her to thoroughly research the program and understand its criteria.
"Truc Linh received support from friends who lent her clothes and shoes. She asked me for money twice, one million dong once, and 600,000 dong another time. Knowing her needs, I added a few hundred thousand dong more," Mr. Phuc said.
The family couldn't support her at the semi-final round in Hanoi in late April due to her grandmother's serious illness. A few weeks later, Truc Linh was saddened by the news of her beloved grandmother's passing. "Her schedule will likely be very busy after winning the crown, and I hope she has enough energy to fulfill her role. In 2023, after becoming Miss Finance - Marketing University, she fell ill due to the pressure," her father said.

According to Truc Linh's family, she has always been obedient, hardworking, and inherited her father's quiet and reserved nature. She always puts her best effort into everything she does. In 9th grade, she became significantly taller than her peers, which led to a period of self-consciousness. In university, she became more confident and outgoing. Her family initially guided her towards becoming an English teacher, but Truc Linh wasn't interested and pursued a different field. Due to his teaching commitments, Mr. Phuc only accompanied her to Ho Chi Minh City once for university enrollment. From then on, she lived independently in the city. Each month, besides tuition, her parents gave her six million dong for living expenses. Occasionally, she worked as a model, proudly telling her parents about earning a few hundred thousand dong.
Her parents aren't overly worried about Truc Linh becoming Miss Vietnam and entering showbiz: "I believe she knows how to manage and balance things. My greatest hope is that she can use her influence to promote the cultural beauty and tourism of Phu Yen," Mr. Phuc shared.
Ha Truc Linh surpassed 24 contestants to win the Miss Vietnam 2024 crown and a 500 million dong prize. Her victory was not unexpected by many viewers, as she was a prominent candidate throughout the competition's various rounds.
Before the finals, numerous forums and beauty pageants ranked her as a top contender for the crown. Ha Truc Linh has a radiant face, stands at 1.72 m tall, and has body measurements of 80-59-95 cm. In the program's reality show, she performed well in many challenges. During the competition, she was also invited by several fashion houses to participate in professional fashion shows.
The Miss Vietnam pageant is a beauty contest initiated by Tien Phong Newspaper and first held in 1988 as Miss Tien Phong Newspaper Association. The first crown holder was Bui Bich Phuong from Hanoi. Over the years, despite the rise of many beauty contests, Miss Vietnam is still considered a high-quality platform that retains its unique identity. Many winners of the competition have found success in various fields and become familiar faces to the public.
