On 4/6, she arrived early at the venue in Chicago, Illinois, US, to prepare for the round. "The atmosphere of the selection round was vibrant, with both professional and non-professional models participating," she said.
Tu Ny wore a tank top paired with shorts, highlighting her physique. She and many other contestants underwent a document verification process before receiving their registration numbers. According to regulations, applicants must be 18 years or older, not bound by other contracts, and eligible to work in the US. Tu Ny stated that her application encountered a minor issue because she had previously signed a contract with a company when she first moved abroad for work.
She had to prove she was no longer bound by her previous company and was now a freelance model. "Initially, I feared losing the chance to step onto the stage and had to wait a long time for the team to resolve it. However, everything proceeded smoothly afterward," she said.
She walked confidently to vibrant music amid cheers from many onlookers. Afterward, Tu Ny met the judges and answered questions about her work and why she wanted to participate in the program.
The model stated, "I am satisfied with my performance. Whatever the outcome, I will accept it, as this is a memorable experience in my career." Currently, the contestants advancing to the third round have not yet been announced.

Tu Ny had one month to prepare after receiving her invitation in late April. She dedicated most of her time to gym workouts combined with kickboxing to achieve a more toned physique. Additionally, Tu Ny adopted a healthy diet, prioritizing protein and green vegetables. Daily, she practiced her catwalk in front of a mirror, learning poses suitable for the show's aesthetic. She also sought advice from veteran model Truong Tri Truc Diem, who participated in a casting call in May in Los Angeles.
Her full name is Nguyen Thi Tu Ny, 29, from Can Tho (formerly Soc Trang). Tu Ny has harmonious features, a tanned complexion, and measurements of 80-59-90 cm. The model previously competed in Miss Universe Vietnam 2021 but did not advance far. When working domestically, she was a protege of Vo Hoang Yen. Tu Ny participated in numerous shows for renowned designers and major fashion events like Vietnam International Fashion Week. In 2025, she moved to Singapore, then later to the US.
In recent weeks, Victoria's Secret has conducted extensive casting calls, attracting a large volume of applications. Applicants undergo three selection rounds: online, live, and a high-intensity catwalk, to secure a spot to perform in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2026 and sign a contract with IMG Models.

The lingerie brand is highly coveted by models because, according to Vogue, walking for the brand is a "golden ticket" to international recognition. Fashionista magazine calls it the most desired opportunity in the industry, a significant career milestone, as the show is broadcast in approximately 190 countries and territories. Although Victoria's Secret's influence declined between 2016 and 2021 due to various scandals, the brand still holds symbolic value.
