Launched on 15/6/2020, VieON, a member of the DatVietVAC Group Holdings technology, media, and entertainment ecosystem, quickly made its mark on the Vietnamese over-the-top (OTT) market and currently boasts over 72 million accessed devices. In early 2024, the company launched VieON Global, a strategic step in its goal of bringing Vietnamese digital content to the international stage.
VieON Global is not just an entertainment platform; it's positioned as a cultural connection space for the Vietnamese diaspora in the US, Australia, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, and other countries and territories.
"With over 10,000 hours of Vietnamese-language content, from movies and music to television shows, the platform opens doors for Vietnamese generations born abroad to easily access and take pride in their roots," a company representative said.

Over the past two years, VieON Global has continuously expanded its reach through real-world activities. Most recently, the company partnered with a US counterpart to organize two "Hello, It's Mr. Anh!" concerts at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, connecting thousands of overseas Vietnamese and Vietnamese stars.
At the event, Bao Thai, CEO of VieON, introduced VieON Global to the international audience, emphasizing the platform's focus on developing culturally relevant digital content to serve the Vietnamese community abroad.
"Let's stay connected with our homeland, enjoy entertainment shows with the domestic audience, and simultaneously spread Vietnamese cultural values to the world," Bao Thai said, receiving a long round of applause.

"Anh trai" HIEUTHUHAI was moved to perform in Vietnamese in the US. For him, it was "a special moment in 2025." Duong Domic said it was "a great honor" to contribute to "extending the cultural connection between Vietnamese people at home and abroad."
Currently, VieON Global boasts a large library of original Vietnamese content, including hundreds of television dramas, movies, game shows, and reality programs, continuously updated and with new productions. In recent years, the platform has produced popular shows like "Hello, It's Mr. Anh!", "Hello, It's Ms. Em!", "2 Days & 1 Night Vietnam," and "Speed Arena."
In terms of films, the platform has made its mark with critically acclaimed works like "A Mother's Dream" (directed by Nguyen Minh Chung), which won the Excellent TV Series award at the Golden Orchid Awards 2022; "7 Years Not Married, Will Break Up" (directed by Nguyen Hoang Anh), which won three categories at the Golden Orchid Awards 2024; and "Wish We Could Fly" (directed by Phan Dang Di), which earned Lanh Thanh the Best Actor award at the Blue Star Awards 2024.
In addition, many projects produced by VieON have achieved high viewership across platforms (VieON, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and Zalo Video): "Stolen Happiness" (directed by Meritorious Artist Nham Minh Hien) with over 5 billion views; "Love Before the Wedding Day" (directed by Vo Thach Thao) with 1 billion views; "Nu Chu" (directed by Nguyen Hoang Anh) with 800 million views; and "The Other Woman Isn't at Fault?" (directed by Tran Buu Loc) with 500 million views. "Don't You Dare Escape Me" (directed by Nguyen Hoang Anh) is currently airing and has recorded 200 million views after one month, demonstrating the appeal of authentic Vietnamese content.
Having directed many internationally award-winning films, director Phan Dang Di understands the value of cultural identity in the creative process. In the context of major video-on-demand (VOD) platforms increasingly globalizing content to cater to general tastes, he believes that persisting in "creating authentic Vietnamese content for Vietnamese people" not only enriches art but also preserves and transmits culture.
"It is a way to affirm the unique position of Vietnamese culture—an identity that cannot be dissolved or forgotten, in the present and the future," the director explained.

Speaking with VnExpress, director Phan Dang Di expressed his pride upon receiving a message from a former student, now a film lecturer at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (USA). From halfway around the world, the lecturer was moved to tears while watching the story of a poor neighborhood in Vietnam in "Wish We Could Fly."
"For a filmmaker, the audience's emotional response is the most precious gift. I want to share this sentiment with VieON Global: I hope you will continue to produce authentic Vietnamese content so that our compatriots everywhere can connect with their homeland and roots," Phan Dang Di said.
In the next phase, the platform aims to expand its reach, strengthen international collaborations, and invest in creative projects that highlight Vietnamese identity.
"We aspire to become a cultural bridge between Vietnam and Vietnamese people globally, while contributing to building a modern and sustainable content industry," a VieON Global representative added.
