Youngest singer eliminated from 'Em xinh say hi'

Anh Sang AZA, the youngest Gen Z contestant on the show, was eliminated alongside Dao Tu A1J, Han Sara, and Muoi due to low scores.

In the eighth episode, which aired on the evening of 19/7, contestants from three teams competed in musical performances and showcased their dancing skills before the judges. As a result, My My and Miu Le's team advanced with all members intact. Tien Tien's team faced elimination, resulting in Anh Sang AZA's departure due to having the lowest individual score, as per the rules of the competition.

When MC Tran Thanh announced Anh Sang AZA's elimination, Phuong My Chi was surprised, and Tien Tien burst into tears. On stage, the singer admitted to being reserved in the past but gradually opened up more through each round of the competition. Anh Sang AZA said she had matured and learned many new things to be more confident in her upcoming career path.

The 19-year-old contestant, whose real name is Nguyen Le Ngoc Anh Sang, attracted attention from the start with her youthful energy. She joined SGO48, a branch of the Japanese idol model in Vietnam, at the age of 12. After the group disbanded in 2021, she focused on her studies and prepared for a solo career. In 2024, she released her debut EP titled AZA, collaborating with musician Kai Dinh, and adopted the product's name as her new stage name. In Em xinh say hi, Anh Sang's performance of "Run" (composed by Tong Dai) made a strong impression, reaching the top spot on YouTube's trending music chart.

From Teams 1 and 3, the eliminated contestants included Han Sara, Dao Tu A1J, and Muoi. Muoi shed tears on stage as she bid farewell to her fellow contestants. She shared her biggest dream of buying a house for her parents. She recounted her musical journey, starting at age 12, explaining how her family, despite limited resources, chose the best teachers and saved every penny from their chicken rice stall to pay for her tuition. MC Tran Thanh empathized with Muoi, sharing his own experience of asking an established artist for a chance to perform comedy together when he was still unknown. He encouraged her to strive for bigger goals, believing that success would enable her to take care of her parents.

Han Sara expressed no regrets, having dedicated all her time and energy to the competition. She felt she had grown through the show and made new friends. Dao Tu A1J stated she was proud to be a part of the show. Through each challenge, she improved and sang Vietnamese more clearly.

The 20 remaining contestants will form new groups and compete in the following rounds. Previously, the first six contestants to leave the program were Ly Ly, Hoang Duyen, Ngo Lan Huong, Yeolan, Chi Xe, and Danmy.

Em xinh say hi, which aims to "discover the next generation of female idols in Vietnamese music," premiered in late May and consists of 14 episodes, scheduled to conclude in August. The program is produced by the same team behind the successful Anh trai say hi show in mid-2024.

30 contestants are divided into teams, competing directly through performances in group format, with eliminations occurring in each round. Music director JustaTee (nickname Jessica Thanh Tu) and a team of over 20 producers and musicians are responsible for the new compositions for the contestants.
