The actress wished for her daughter to be safe, healthy, and to live authentically. "Childhood is very short, the future is very long; reach out and embrace your youth. You will always be my initial pride," Zhang Ziyi wrote.

She became a single mother of two children after divorcing singer Wang Feng in 2023; her youngest son is 5 years old. The actress has not publicly discussed her romantic life, while Wang Feng is dating a divorced woman with children from a previous marriage. Zhang Ziyi guides her children to experience new places and explore the natural world. Consequently, on short business trips, she takes her children along, combining travel with convenient care and supervision for the two children.

On Weibo, the actress previously stated that despite their separation, she and her ex-husband remain like family, sharing the responsibilities of raising and educating their children, striving to be reliable parents.
