On 30/6, Dr. Mai Van Luc of the Department of Renal Urology and Andrology at E Hospital, reported that the patient experienced intense lower back pain accompanied by nausea. Tests revealed severe kidney inflammation, with the organ nearly "petrified" due to ureteral stones obstructing urine flow.
The girl, previously healthy with no underlying conditions, had a long-standing habit of consuming instant noodles as a meal replacement, a fondness for milk tea, and rarely drank water. Doctors identified this combination as detrimental to kidney health.
"Instant noodles are high in salt, preservatives, and additives, placing a significant burden on the kidneys. Excessive milk tea consumption, with its high sugar, processed fats, and artificial flavorings, can also overwork the kidneys, increasing strain," explained the doctor, adding that insufficient water intake further reduces kidney function and allows mineral deposits to accumulate, forming stones.
The patient's treatment plan involved surgery and medication to address the blockage, along with lifestyle changes.

The doctor noted that many young people face kidney and urinary problems at an early age due to unhealthy lifestyles: poor diets, overconsumption of fast food and sugary drinks, lack of exercise, and inadequate water intake.
While kidney stones were once rare in young people, kidney diseases are now increasingly common among adolescents and even children.
To prevent kidney disease, especially kidney stones, in young people, the doctor recommends the following four steps:
: Drink enough water, at least 2 liters daily, spread throughout the day.
: Limit consumption of instant noodles and fast food.
: Avoid excessive milk tea and carbonated soft drinks.
: Increase physical activity and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
