According to a report from the Hanoi CDC, dengue cases were recorded in 38 of 126 wards and communes. Tay Ho had 13 cases; Phuong Duc and Hat Mon had 5 each; Xuan Phuong had 4; Yen Hoa and Long Bien had 3 each; and Tu Liem, Dan Hoa, Dai Mo, Dan Phuong, Hoang Mai, Ha Dong, and Phuc Loc each had 2.
So far in 2025, Hanoi has recorded 475 dengue cases, with no deaths. The number of cases is lower than in the same period last year.
However, officials believe the number of cases is trending upward as the peak season begins. Frequent rain and hot, humid weather create favorable conditions for mosquito breeding and disease transmission.

The Ministry of Health also reported over 32,000 dengue cases nationwide. Compared to the same period last year, the number of cases has decreased by over 11%. However, some localities have seen a year-on-year increase, such as Ben Tre (up 346%), Tay Ninh (up 274%), Long An (up 208%), Dong Nai (up 191%), and Ho Chi Minh City (up 151%).
"If localities do not implement decisive preventive measures from the beginning of the season, the risk of a dengue outbreak in 2025 is very high," said Vo Hai Son, Deputy Director of the Department of Preventive Medicine, Ministry of Health.
Dengue fever is an acute infectious disease transmitted by mosquitoes and can occur at any age. The disease often progresses rapidly, from mild to severe, and can be fatal if not treated promptly. The most effective preventive measure remains eliminating mosquitoes and larvae and avoiding mosquito bites.
