Female engineer loses 11 kg, reverses severe fatty liver after 12 weeks of proper eating

Once facing the risk of cirrhosis complications due to stress-eating habits at night, the 35-year-old female engineer fully recovered liver damage by scientifically changing her meal order.

In Taiwan (China), one in three people suffer from fatty liver, a condition that can lead to cirrhosis and liver cancer if prolonged. On the program "Bung no tieu vu tru", family doctor Hsu Shu-hua, director of Shuxin Clinic, shared the case of a 35-year-old female engineer working at a gaming company. She had gained 10 kg due to a sedentary lifestyle, high work pressure, irregular eating, and frequent stress-eating at night.

Despite occasional strength training, she mistakenly adopted an extreme diet, completely eliminating carbohydrates and consuming too much fatty red meat, which caused her weight to plateau. Her routine health check-up results were alarming, showing moderate to severe fatty liver, with both GOT and GPT liver enzyme levels exceeding safe limits.

To help the patient improve her physical condition, Doctor Hsu designed a 12-week adjustment regimen. First, the eating order was changed to prioritize vegetables, then protein, and finally carbohydrates to stabilize blood sugar and prolong satiety. Instead of completely eliminating carbohydrates, the patient was guided to switch to whole foods such as brown rice, oats, and sweet potatoes.

Mindful eating was also implemented, requiring the patient to focus on savoring the food's taste instead of eating while watching television or working. She was instructed to chew each bite 20 times slowly, eat until 70% full, drink 40 ml of water per kg of body weight daily, and ensure 7 hours of sleep.

Regarding exercise, she was encouraged to combine various forms such as fat-burning walks, weight training for muscle gain, and stretching yoga. She also utilized free time for intermittent jump rope sessions of one to two minutes or climbing three flights of stairs.

Thanks to strict and consistent adherence for 12 weeks, the female engineer reduced her weight from 65 kg to 54 kg, and her body fat percentage sharply decreased from 37% to 26%. Not only did she successfully shed 11 kg of excess fat, but her moderate to severe fatty liver condition completely disappeared, liver enzyme levels returned to normal, and inflammation in her body was thoroughly resolved.
