Five common foods to enhance male sexual health

Oysters, pomegranate, and watermelon provide nutrients that support blood circulation, hormone balance, and contribute to improving male sexual health.

Oysters are rich in zinc, a mineral vital for testosterone production, a key hormone that improves mood and male libido. Zinc can also increase sperm count and motility. Men can supplement zinc from other sources, including: beef, pork, fortified cereals, pumpkin seeds, cashews, and yogurt.

Watermelon contains citrulline, an amino acid the body converts into arginine. Arginine contributes to increased nitric oxide production, helping relax blood vessels and improve blood circulation. This mechanism relates to erectile function; however, watermelon's effect is only supportive and should not replace medication for erectile dysfunction.

Strawberries, rich in vitamin C, can boost libido, improve blood circulation, and reduce stress. This fruit also helps the body release oxytocin, often called the "love hormone", associated with emotional bonding and arousal.

Coffee and tea provide caffeine, stimulating the nervous system. This can help men improve sexual performance and reduce the risk of erectile dysfunction. These two beverages also contain antioxidants beneficial to health. However, avoid consuming them close to bedtime as they can affect sleep.

Regular consumption of pomegranate can improve sperm quality and increase fertility. Pomegranates are also rich in polyphenols, compounds linked to a reduced risk of hypertension, heart disease, and stroke. They also help dilate blood vessels, increasing blood flow to the brain and heart.
