The program also prioritizes men aged 40 and above with a family history, including a father or brother, who have had prostate cancer. Eligible men will receive an examination and direct consultation with experienced urologists.
Following the consultation, patients will undergo a total PSA blood test. This is considered a "gold standard" in medicine for early detection of cancer signs, even before clinical symptoms appear. Additionally, patients will receive a general abdominal ultrasound to assess the prostate's morphology and detect any early abnormalities.

The prostate plays a crucial role in semen production, providing energy for sperm activity, and controlling urination. Prostate cancer is a common malignant disease, ranking as the 5th most prevalent cancer among men, according to Globocan's 2022 statistics.
While the age-standardized incidence rate in Vietnam is lower compared to Europe and America, the mortality rate remains alarmingly high. The disease progresses silently, and by the time symptoms such as difficulty urinating, pelvic pain, or blood in the urine appear, the cancer has often spread. Early detection, however, can lead to a cure and preservation of function. In advanced stages, the disease causes pain, severe complications, and requires prolonged, costly treatment that only extends life with numerous side effects. Therefore, regular screening is a key factor for early detection and improved treatment effectiveness.
