On 23/11, a Long Chau representative cited World Health Organization (WHO) statistics, revealing that globally in 2022, approximately 16% of adults aged 18 and above were obese, a twofold increase since 1990. In Vietnam, 25% of adults face overweight or obesity. Among 5-19 year olds, this rate surged from 8,5% in 2010 to 19% in 2020, with urban areas accounting for 26,8%.
Medical experts assert that overweight and obesity cause many diseases, increasing the risk of non-communicable diseases and earlier onset. According to WHO, these include: musculoskeletal complications, neurological disorders, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and cancer. This condition negatively impacts individual health and creates a societal burden through increased costs and reduced labor productivity.

Addressing this situation, Long Chau and Stada Pymepharco have deepened their collaboration, applying international medical knowledge to practices in Vietnam to help combat overweight and obesity. This partnership signifies a milestone in the strategic relationship between the two entities.
As part of the initiative, both parties implemented programs for measuring and evaluating body mass index (BMI), blood pressure, electrocardiogram (ECG), and personalized consultations. The organizers also provided updated medical knowledge on "safe weight loss starts with correct understanding," aiming to raise community awareness about the risks of overweight and obesity and scientific methods for weight management to ensure health.
Through a network of 2.400 pharmacies nationwide, healthcare professionals will analyze and advise individuals on their BMI, helping them understand their body condition and recognize the risks of overweight and obesity. The medical team will also suggest proper weight loss methods, emphasizing "correct understanding," adherence to doctors' advice, and actively building a healthy lifestyle.

In parallel, in-depth medical training sessions for healthcare teams aim to enhance their consulting capabilities and clinical pharmacy practices. Both parties discussed and updated knowledge and clinical evidence on pathology, modern weight management approaches, and the prevention of overweight and obesity.
Through these training sessions, the Long Chau team hopes to continue its role as an "extended arm" of the medical sector, bringing medical knowledge closer to the public. Building on this foundation, Stada Pymepharco and Stada Group affirmed their commitment to collaborate with Long Chau, standardizing consultations and improving healthcare quality. The two entities previously signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement to bring European solutions to millions of Vietnamese families.

In response to Resolution 72-NQ/TW from the Politburo and Government Resolution 282/NQ-CP on breakthroughs in public healthcare, Long Chau partners with healthcare agencies, hospitals, and expert teams to promote a series of screening programs, medical examinations, and free medicine distribution in various regions.
Stada Pymepharco was established in 1989 and has been the sole Vietnamese member (since 2021) of Germany's Stada Group. The company operates two EU-GMP certified factories in Tuy Hoa and Dak Lak. Currently, 400 of its healthcare products and generic drugs are distributed across more than 14.000 hospitals, medical facilities, and pharmacy systems nationwide.
