After losing 108 kg, from 230 kg down to 98 kg, the 29-year-old man living in Ho Chi Minh City is facing severe loose skin on many parts of his body. The excess skin on his stomach, arms, and thighs makes movement slow and daily activities inconvenient. "Losing weight made me healthier, but to have a fitter body and move more easily, I need to have surgery to remove the excess skin," Nhan shared.

As Nhan prepared for the series of surgeries, the team of experts who supported him during his weight loss journey spent over six months researching and working with various medical facilities. Many hospitals declined his case, considering it complex, lengthy, and risky, requiring specialized post-operative care. After assessing the expertise and capacity to handle complex body contouring cases, the team chose Kangnam Cosmetic Hospital, trusting their experience and commitment to patient safety.
Kangnam Cosmetic Hospital examined Nhan and developed a 4-surgery plan, spanning from August of this year to 4/2026. The surgeries will address his neck, arms, chest, abdomen, waist, back, hips, and thighs. The abdominal and waist surgery, scheduled for December, is considered the most complex due to its impact on the core of his body. Dr. Richard Huy and a team of Vietnamese doctors will perform the surgeries, collaborating with American body contouring specialist Dr. Peterson.

The nearly 12-month plan requires high expertise in body contouring and thorough preparation regarding Nhan's physical condition, mental state, and nutrition to ensure safe recovery between surgeries.
Trong Nhan previously had level 3 liver enzymes and level 20 visceral fat, with fatty liver disease, metabolic disorders, and diabetes. During his weight loss and health monitoring, he was advised to use certified support products to control his biological indicators. Among them, Hydrodol Liver Health, a liver support supplement, contains ingredients from milk thistle, green tea, chebulic myrobalan, and daikon radish. He also used Maxi Organ Fat Detox, a health supplement extracted from aloe vera, Siberian ginseng, Baikal skullcap, bupleurum, wolfberry, and B vitamins to improve blood lipid levels, boost his immune system, and reduce fatigue during weight loss.
Regarding his post-operative diet, Trong Nhan has a personalized meal plan tailored to each recovery stage. The diet prioritizes healthy, low-fat, and easily digestible foods like brown rice vermicelli, cold brew coffee, Bye Beo seasoning, and chili sauce. His nutrition will be closely monitored to ensure a stable physical condition and reduce post-operative complications.

Before his first surgery, Trong Nhan admits to feeling anxious. He understands the risks associated with each procedure, especially in sensitive areas like the abdomen and waist. However, after months of preparation, Nhan says he's ready: "I see this as a journey to save myself, overcome my insecurities about my appearance, and change myself for the better every day." Nhan's story has garnered attention online, with many followers of his weight loss journey expressing empathy and hoping for successful surgeries.
Trong Nhan hopes that after the surgeries, he can dedicate time to community projects, particularly campaigns for early detection of childhood obesity. He hopes to spread awareness about obesity so that more people can proactively prevent it rather than treat it.
