Nam An Hospital offers free acne and scar treatment for young people

A team of specialized doctors will directly examine and support 20 suitable cases throughout their treatment journey.

Nam An Aesthetic Hospital has launched the "Glow-up Summer" program, advocating the message, "Stop the FOMO effect, find what your skin truly needs." This initiative encourages young individuals to seek professional advice for acne treatment rather than experimenting with unscientific methods.

Participants can register via an online form and share the program's post publicly on their personal Facebook profiles. The organizing committee will accept applications until 31/7 and select 20 suitable candidates for direct examination, skin analysis, condition assessment, and ongoing treatment by the medical team. Applicants not selected for the full program will still receive free skin scans and consultations with doctors, helping them better understand their skin condition and appropriate care.

Doctor Nguyen Pham Hoang Kim from the Department of Aesthetic Dermatology at Nam An Aesthetic Hospital noted an increasing number of patients seeking treatment after their skin developed scars, hyperpigmentation, or prolonged damage due to self-treatment. Many individuals have constantly changed cosmetic products and skincare routines based on social media trends, yet their acne has not improved.

Doctor Hoang Kim observed that young people invest significantly in cosmetic products but often lack a true understanding of their skin condition. "We've found that young people don't lack skincare products; rather, they lack an accurate assessment of their skin. Constantly changing cosmetics based on online trends can sometimes delay treatment and increase the risk of scarring," she stated.

This also explains why many patients only seek medical help when their acne has severely progressed or complications such as scars and hyperpigmentation have appeared. At this stage, treatment requires more time, expense, and effort compared to early intervention.

According to the doctor, an inflammatory lesion on the skin is not necessarily acne; it could indicate other dermatological conditions such as: dermatitis, folliculitis, or boils. Self-diagnosing and treating based on personal experience or unverified information can easily lead patients down the wrong path, prolonging the condition or making it more complex.

"It is crucial to correctly identify the skin condition before starting treatment. After an examination, doctors provide an accurate diagnosis and select appropriate acne treatment for each case, which may include topical medications, oral medications, or necessary interventions," the doctor advised.
