On the afternoon of 11/7, medical personnel at Song Tu Tay Island (Brigade 146, Naval Zone 4) received 47-year-old Bui Van Tra from Quang Ngai province. He was experiencing severe pain in his lower left back, limited mobility, and fatigue after a night adrift at sea. Tra works on the fishing vessel QNg 96093TS.
Earlier that day, while fishing, Tra slipped and fell 3 meters, striking his back on the side of the boat before landing in the water. The impact caused severe pain in his lower back and difficulty moving, suggesting possible musculoskeletal injuries.

Doctors diagnosed Tra with a serious soft tissue injury in his lower left back, requiring close monitoring for internal organ and urinary complications. Medical staff administered fluids, pain relief, and anti-inflammatory medication, closely observing his condition and preparing for further action if his condition worsened.
Tra is currently receiving intensive care at the Song Tu Tay medical station.
The day before, personnel stationed on Da Lat Island collaborated with Survey Vessel 883 to rescue 5 fishermen whose boat had lost its anchor, drifted, and run aground 1.3 nautical miles from the island. Survey Vessel 883's small boat transported all the fishermen safely to Da Lat Island.
Medical personnel on the island examined the fishermen and determined they were in stable condition. The fishing boat, deemed unsalvageable due to hull damage, was abandoned. Personnel helped transfer the fishermen's belongings to another vessel and provided them with food before they safely returned to the mainland later that evening.
