Ms. Le Thi Chin, 58, who had surgery 5 days ago after four rounds of chemotherapy, carefully painted each stroke. "Initially, I was tired and in pain, so I didn't plan to participate, but joining the atmosphere uplifted my spirits", she shared about her first painting experience.

Ms. Chin's painting was vibrant with a field of flowers, the sun, and two small houses. She used colors to express her love for her two daughters (23 and 26 years old), wishing for their futures to always be as bright and radiant as the sun.

Ms. Them, 42, from Dak Lak, attended the art class feeling unsettled before her surgery scheduled for the next day. Having recently been diagnosed with cancer, she was still reeling from shock and despair, thinking of her two sons, 9 and 13 years old, waiting at home.
She always carried a stuffed pangolin with her. "When I left home to go to Ho Chi Minh City (TP HCM) for treatment, my youngest son lent me this pangolin so I could hug it and miss him less during my hospital stay", the patient said.

Under the teacher's guidance, Ms. Van, 60, from Dong Nai City, carefully completed a landscape painting. She had surgery yesterday, following eight rounds of chemotherapy.

Standing nearby, capturing the moment her mother smiled beside her finished painting, Ms. Van's daughter proudly said, "My mother is very skillful and has beautiful handwriting, but this is the first time she has held a paintbrush".
According to Dr. Pham Thanh Viet, Director of Cho Ray Hospital, patient care involves not only treating the illness but also attending to their mental well-being and quality of life. Le Minh Hien, Head of the Social Work Department, stated that based on this approach, the hospital organizes activities such as color sorting and painting to help patients relax and gain positive energy during their treatment days. The hospital maintains this program once a month.
