The secret sleep schedule helping 'Taiwanese Pop Diva' Jolin Tsai maintain her youthful beauty

At 45, the "Mandopop queen" maintains a 9:30 PM bedtime routine to preserve her skin and figure.

In her new podcast series, "Pleasure Talks", Jolin Tsai shared her unique lifestyle that helps her maintain her skin and figure. The "Taiwanese Pop Diva" stated that her secret isn't expensive treatments, but strict adherence to her biological clock.

The Taiwanese music diva admitted she used to go to bed at 10 PM. However, after a business trip back from the United States, adjusting to the time zone shifted her bedtime an hour earlier. "For many nights, I went to sleep at 9 PM. The next day, I woke up feeling radiant", the singer enthusiastically shared. Noticing her body responded well, she decided to maintain a fixed bedtime of 9:30 PM.

This discipline sometimes leads to amusing situations. Close friend Tanya Chua revealed that during social gatherings, the "Mandopop queen" often quietly calls a car to leave early to make her bedtime. Jolin Tsai even wished her concerts could be held at 2 PM so she could finish work before 5 PM and rest early.

The podcast unintentionally turned the phrase "Jolin Tsai's bedtime" into a social media phenomenon. At 45, the diva's youthful beauty and ideal figure motivate many to follow suit. On one forum, the question "Is going to bed at 9:30 PM really effective?" received numerous positive responses. Many asserted that sleeping and waking early not only significantly improved their skin, reminiscent of their military days, but also helped heal health issues like allergies after just a few months of consistency.

However, for most modern young people, an early bedtime is not easy. One person commented, "I go to bed at 9:30 PM but toss and turn until midnight, still awake, and wake up even more tired." With work pressure and the constant presence of electronic devices, going to bed before 10 PM seems like an "impossible mission."

This trend has also become an iconic joke, with internet users using the singer's bedtime as a reference point. Instead of scheduling a meeting at 10:30 PM, they might say: "Let's meet one hour after Jolin Tsai goes to bed." A website even emerged called "Jolin Tsai Standard Time, Are You Asleep Yet?". This site not only displays the time but also allows people to "check in" their bedtime and tracks which regions or cities have the earliest sleepers.

As many attempted to follow Jolin Tsai's 9:30 PM bedtime but found themselves waking up in the middle of the night, nutritionist Cao Man Man posted a warning on Facebook. She asserted that the time one goes to bed is less important than "getting enough sleep and maintaining a stable schedule." Beyond the duration of sleep, sleep quality is the crucial factor for true bodily recovery, preventing the feeling of fatigue upon waking, as if one hadn't slept at all.

According to sleep education materials from the Sleep Center at National Taiwan University Hospital, the golden rule for good health is maintaining a consistent sleep schedule. Experts recommend going to bed before 11 PM and ensuring 7 to 8 hours of sleep daily. If you lie in bed for more than 30 minutes without feeling sleepy, do not force yourself to close your eyes; instead, get up and do some light exercise or read a book to relax. Tossing and turning for too long only makes the brain more alert and makes falling asleep harder.

Information from medical journals indicates that 6-8 hours of sleep per night is the safest range to minimize disease risk. Sleeping too long (over 9 hours) or too short (under 5 hours) both lead to negative consequences for the body. If one cannot maintain "Jolin Tsai Time", experts advise trying to fall asleep before 11 PM to allow the body time to self-heal and balance beauty from within.
