On the morning of 13/5, Doctor Do Thi Ngoc Khanh, Deputy Head of the Department of Tropical Diseases at Cho Ray Hospital, stated that the treatment team successfully stopped the seizures and controlled the patient's blood pressure. Her consciousness improved slightly thanks to the medical staff's use of various resuscitation equipment and a specialized lidocaine detoxification protocol in recent days.
However, the woman still requires mechanical ventilation via an endotracheal tube and needs close monitoring of her vital signs by doctors.
Previously, on 8/5, the cosmetic facility transferred the woman to Cho Ray Hospital for emergency care in critical condition. Immediately after the liposuction procedure, she experienced continuous seizures, impaired consciousness, and rapidly fell into a coma with a very severe Glasgow Coma Scale score. The patient also suffered from hypotension and respiratory failure, requiring medical personnel to assist with manual ventilation.
Emergency department doctors immediately administered sedatives and stabilized her respiratory and circulatory functions before transferring her to a specialized department.

A hospital representative stated that this cosmetic complication case has been reported to the Department of Health of TP HCM for coordinated action.
Local anesthetics temporarily inhibit nerve transmission, reduce pain, and are widely used in many procedures and surgeries. The incidence of local anesthetic poisoning has recently increased, mainly associated with procedures not performed by specialized anesthesiologists or resuscitation doctors.
