At noon on 18/11, fisherman Nguyen Van Hoa, 38, residing in Ha Tay village, Nam Cua Viet commune, found 10 blue and pink bags inside a larger plastic bag, yellow-taped on the outside. After checking a bag with a suspected drug substance, he reported it to the Trieu Van Border Guard Station.

At the scene, authorities noted 10 bags (eight blue, two pink), each printed with the letter "A" and measuring 6,5 x 9 cm. Inside were numerous pink tablets; seawater had made them wet, soft, and stuck together, preventing counting.
The total weight, including packaging and mixed seawater sand, was approximately 300 grams. Authorities identified the tablets as suspected synthetic drugs.
The Trieu Van Border Guard Station recorded the incident, launched an investigation, and urged residents to promptly report any strange objects found to the station and local authorities for handling.
Most recently, in early march 2024, a fisherman in Ngu Thuy commune, Le Thuy district—now Sen Ngu commune—found 20 packages of drugs (20 kg) washed ashore while collecting scrap. These rectangular drugs, uniform in size, were in sealed black plastic wrappers.
