On 3/2, a leader from the Khanh Binh communal People's Committee announced initial findings confirming a 12-year-old girl was slashed multiple times on her body by her cousin, also 12 years old, using a paper cutter knife. This incident, which prompted local authorities to visit and offer support to the child, was initially discovered on 21/1.

The teacher at Truong Tieu hoc 1 Khanh Binh Tay Bac suspected abuse after finding the 5th-grade student with numerous injuries and promptly reported the matter to authorities. The girl had been living with her grandmother and cousin since her parents' divorce. Conflicts arising from their daily lives are believed to have led the cousin to inflict the injuries. Following the report, the girl's paternal family has taken her in for care.

The incident is currently under further investigation by the authorities.
