On 3/8, Ho Thai Son, residing in Ninh Phuoc commune, was temporarily detained by Khanh Hoa Provincial Police for a criminal investigation into murder.

The incident occurred on the evening of 29/7, when Son and a group of friends were at a cafe in Ninh Phuoc commune. While with the group, Son perceived one of his friends was looking at him with a hostile attitude, which provoked his anger.

Son then went to the back of the cafe, retrieved a coconut-chopping knife, and repeatedly struck the victim seven times in the head. The victim sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the emergency room in critical condition.

According to the investigative agency, Son had previously faced local administrative educational measures for involvement in an intentional injury case in 2024. At that time, Son was not old enough to be held criminally responsible.

Khanh Hoa Provincial Police continue their investigation and are strengthening the case file to prosecute Son according to legal provisions.
