The individuals admitted entering Vietnam with initial intentions of tourism and seeking employment. They were promised high-paying online sales and customer service jobs by unknown Chinese individuals through social media platforms like Telegram, WeChat, and Viber. Their true purpose, however, was to operate an online scam system.
Following remote instructions, the group traveled to Mong Cai for work. Police seized 75 mobile phones, 31 laptops, 7 desktop computers, one tablet, along with numerous network devices, cables, and chargers from the residence. The group revealed that all this equipment had been pre-installed by their recruiters. Authorities discovered them before they could fully operate the system and commit fraudulent acts of property appropriation.
After explanations from authorities, all individuals voluntarily cooperated in verifying and clarifying the criminal ring.
