Unusual math scores were identified during the high school graduation exam in Tuyen Quang province. At Tuyen Quang Specialized High School, 146 out of 328 candidates achieved a perfect score of 10 in math. Additionally, 299 out of 328 candidates scored 9 or above. The average score for this group was 9,58, the highest nationwide.
On 14/7, police initiated legal proceedings against 19 individuals, all under investigation for "Abuse of position and power while performing public duties." Tran Thi Thu Hang, Vice Principal of Nguyen Van Huyen High School, allegedly instructed and guided several supervisors, in her role as head of the exam center at Tuyen Quang Specialized High School, to facilitate conditions for candidates during the math exam. Subsequently, math teacher Nguyen Ha Duy reportedly "entered the exam room and directly guided" some candidates.
The Tuyen Quang Department of Education and Training proposed re-exams in math for 322 specialized students and 6 private candidates from this exam center. However, the Ministry of Education and Training has not yet approved this, stating the need to await further verification results from authorities to comprehensively assess the incident's impact. While awaiting a conclusion, candidates at the school are still applying for university admission as planned. If any candidate is found to have violated regulations, the Ministry will take appropriate action based on the nature and severity of the transgression.
