Timothy Grace was arrested on the evening of 21/2 after bringing his macaw parrot, "Blue Skies", in a bag to Callaghan's bar in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
A bartender at the establishment called the police, reporting a man at the bar with an injured parrot, boasting that he fed the bird cannabis and gave it beer daily.
According to court documents, when police arrived at the bar, they found Timothy "extremely intoxicated", struggling to open his eyes and slurring his speech. He confirmed the parrot was his.
Timothy was initially arrested for public intoxication, but now faces charges including severe animal cruelty.

"Blue Skies" received treatment at an emergency care facility for four days before being taken into temporary care by a parrot rescue organization in the Pittsburgh area. The bird had a broken leg, was emaciated, weak, and suffered from several respiratory problems.
Currently, the parrot still experiences breathing difficulties, requires antibiotics, and has a splint on its right leg. The bird's leg was so severely broken that amputation is possible if it does not heal properly. "Blue Skies" will require specialized care if adopted in the future.
Teri Grendzinski, president of the parrot rescue organization, stated that they are seeking answers and justice for Blue Skies. She hopes Timothy will face consequences to prevent similar actions in the future.
Grendzinski also mentioned that veterinary costs amount to thousands of US dollars, and it is currently unclear who will cover these expenses.
Previously, on 25/2, Cesar Gustavo Diaz, 25, of Los Angeles, was sentenced to 45 days in jail, 12 months probation, and 20 days of community service for capturing a young Cooper's hawk and pouring a 15% alcohol cocktail into its beak. The incident occurred in 6/2025. Cesar was prosecuted for minor animal cruelty and capturing and confining wildlife.
