Bank director who appropriated over 5 billion dong surrenders

Ngo Minh Sang, 37, director of a commercial joint-stock bank branch, has surrendered to police after a period as a wanted fugitive.

On 5/2, An Giang Provincial Police announced that Ngo Minh Sang voluntarily presented himself for investigation into abuse of trust to appropriate property, following persuasion.

According to records, Sang directed Nam A Bank's Tan Hiep district branch in the former Kien Giang province. Around 6/2022, he borrowed over 5 billion dong from several individuals for personal expenses.

When the repayment deadline arrived, Sang was unable to pay. He resigned and left the locality. After investigators initiated criminal proceedings, the suspect absconded.

On 16/5/2025, Kien Giang Provincial Police (now An Giang Provincial Police) issued a wanted notice for Ngo Minh Sang.

Authorities are continuing to clarify the incident.
