Nguyen Tan Phuoc, 39, suspected of drug-induced psychosis, allegedly killed his wife and infant child with a knife and severely injured his parents before police and residents subdued him.

Around noon, residents of Ky Chau Hamlet, Vinh Cong Commune, heard cries for help from Phuoc's home and rushed to the scene. There, they found Phuoc showing signs of being out of control, continuously screaming, and attacking his wife, who was holding their 2-month-old infant, with a knife. His parents intervened, and Phuoc severely injured them as well.

Dozens of police officers and residents subsequently subdued Phuoc and disarmed him, while the victims were rushed to the emergency room. Tragically, Phuoc's wife and their 2-month-old child did not survive.
