Around 11 p.m. on 24/1, a Tang Tin sleeper bus, operating the Nghe An - TP HCM route, stopped to pick up passengers at Ha Lan Pass on National Highway 14. Three men boarded the bus and immediately demanded to search the vehicle for someone named Hung.

Fearing disturbance to sleeping passengers, bus assistant Cuong, 28 years old and a resident of Nghe An province, refused their request. The group then attacked him, choking him and repeatedly hitting him on the head inside the cabin. They subsequently dragged Cuong off the bus, continued the assault, and smashed his phone. The victim managed to escape into a nearby house to seek help.

Nguyen Thi Oanh, manager of the Tang Tin bus company, stated that on 23/1 and 24/1, the company received several strange phone calls. Callers booked tickets from Ha Lan Pass to Nghe An province and expressed a desire to travel with "Mr. Hung," a bus company employee. The call center operator advised them to contact Mr. Hung directly if they wished to travel with him.

Cu Bao Ward Police are currently investigating the incident.
