On the morning of 2/4, after receiving reports of a disturbance at Tan Long market, Mich, 63, along with a local police officer, arrived at the scene.

At the scene, Thai Van Binh, 44, was inside a drinks stall "wielding a knife", his eyes glaring and showing signs of being out of control, causing onlookers to flee in fear. When Mich approached to intervene, Binh attacked him with the knife.

After the attack, Binh fled the scene. Recognizing the suspect's dangerous behavior, the local police officer instructed residents to disperse and coordinated with authorities to apprehend Binh.

According to Binh's family, he is a heavy alcoholic.

Later that day, the Board of Directors of Dong Thap Provincial Police visited and offered financial support to Mich's family for funeral arrangements.

According to local authorities, the victim came from a difficult background, his wife had recently passed away, and he was an active and dedicated community security team member.
