On 2/4, Tuan, residing in Buon Ho ward, was convicted by the Dak Lak Provincial People's Court of the crime of making, disseminating, and propagandizing information to oppose the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

According to the indictment, in 1992, Tuan was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Quang Nam Provincial People's Court (now Da Nang City) for the crime of propagandizing against the socialist regime. After his release from prison, in 2002, he continued to connect with individuals and opposition organizations abroad, exploiting issues of democracy and human rights to oppose the Party and the state.

Tuan wrote numerous articles sent to reactionary organizations abroad, aimed at distorting, slandering, and denying the leadership role of the Communist Party of Vietnam. From 5/2025 to 9/2025, the defendant managed and used the Facebook account "Huynh Ngoc Tuan", continuing to livestream videos and post many similar articles, attracting numerous interactions and comments.

The Dak Lak Provincial Police determined that 11 videos and 21 articles posted on this account contained content distorting and slandering the people's government, disseminating false information causing public confusion, and affecting political security and social order at the local level.
