Deputy Minister of Public Security Dang Hong Duc promoted to senior lieutenant general

On the afternoon of 31/7, General Secretary and President To Lam presented the decision to promote Mr. Dang Hong Duc, a member of the Party Central Committee and deputy minister of Public Security, from lieutenant general to senior lieutenant general.

Mr. Dang Hong Duc, 49 years old, a native of Ninh Binh, has risen through the ranks of the public security force. He previously served as secretary to a leader of the Ministry of Public Security, then as secretary and later assistant to the President.

His career progression includes several key appointments: In 4/2019, he held the position of Deputy Commander of the Guard Command, Ministry of Public Security. In 6/2020, he was appointed Director of Yen Bai Provincial Public Security. In 1/2023, he became Chief of the Office of the Ministry of Public Security.

In 1/2025, Mr. Duc was appointed Deputy Minister of Public Security. Five months later, he was promoted to lieutenant general. This year, in 1/2026, he was elected a member of the Party Central Committee at the 14th National Congress of the Party.

Currently, General Luong Tam Quang serves as the Minister of Public Security. The six deputy ministers include Senior Lieutenant Generals: Le Quoc Hung, Le Van Tuyen, Nguyen Van Long, Pham The Tung, Nguyen Ngoc Lam, and Dang Hong Duc.
