On 20/7, Le Thanh Phong, 65, was temporarily detained by Khanh Hoa Provincial Police for investigation into a murder case in Khanh Thanh Nam village, Suoi Hiep commune.

Yesterday, residents working in a field in Khanh Thanh Nam village discovered the body of a 64-year-old man who had been dead for several days. They promptly reported the finding to authorities.

Within 4 hours, police identified Phong as the perpetrator.

According to investigators, Phong stated he was drinking alcohol with the victim on 17/7. During their conversation, an argument ensued. Believing the victim had insulted his mother, Phong used a knife to stab him, causing his death.

Police are currently verifying the suspect's statement.
