On 16/9, Tuyen Quang Provincial Police announced that the Security Investigation Agency temporarily detained 39-year-old Vu Thi Dung, residing in Ha Giang 1 ward, on charges of tax evasion under Article 200 of the Penal Code.

Investigations revealed that in 2023, Dung served as director, managing Explore Ha Giang Company Limited, an international travel and tourism business. Since its establishment, the company allegedly failed to declare or pay value-added tax and corporate income tax to tax authorities. This omission caused damages totaling billions of Vietnamese dong to the State budget.

The Security Agency is continuing its investigation to clarify the nature and extent of the violations, the exact amount of evaded tax, and the roles of the accused and any involved individuals or organizations.
