Pham Ngoc Tam, 37, was recently indicted by the People's Procuracy of Hanoi on murder charges.
According to the indictment, on the evening of 15/8/2025, Huy, Hung, and Dat had gone out for a meal and drinks. Around 23:50, the three arrived at a friend's boarding house in Tay Tuu on a single motorbike, intending to borrow construction tools.
Upon their arrival, the three men stood outside, conversing loudly and creating a disturbance. Pham Ngoc Tam emerged from the adjacent house, visibly agitated. He pointed at Dat's face, reportedly saying, "You there, come here." As Dat approached, Tam slapped him.
As the three prepared to leave, Tam reappeared from his room, now armed with a sword approximately 70 cm long. Witnessing this, Huy and Dat fled.
Tam then advanced towards Hung, who was urinating. He pointed the sword at Hung's face and demanded he kneel and apologize, but Hung refused.
As Hung was sitting down, Tam struck him once on the top of the head with the sword. He then continued to pursue all three men.
The victim sustained a 2% injury to his health and reported the incident to the police the following day.
During the investigation, the suspect stated he committed the crime because the three men caused a disturbance late at night.
