On 14/7, the Criminal Police Department of Da Nang City Police announced the dismantling of a major online football betting ring. Collaborating with Thanh Khe Ward Police, 50 officers were mobilized to simultaneously raid and summon seven suspects for investigation into organizing gambling and gambling activities.

The individuals arrested include: Dang Doan Ngoc Tuan (43), Van Anh Quoc (36), Dao Ngoc Khong Thien (39), Le Nguyen Thanh Lam (32), Le Van Loc (50), Do Minh Duc (48), all residing in Thanh Khe ward, and Nguyen Dien Thuan (36), residing in Hoa Khanh ward.

During initial questioning at the police station, the suspects admitted that starting in 4/2026, Dang Doan Ngoc Tuan and Van Anh Quoc established limits for football betting accounts. They then divided these into a multi-tiered system: Master (first-level agents), Agent (second-level agents), and Member (players), distributing them to various contacts for organizing and participating in betting.

To conceal transaction flows, the group employed advanced technology, constantly altering their operating methods and utilizing multiple intermediary accounts to transfer winning and losing funds.

Investigators determined that from 4/2026 until now, the total transaction volume within the ring reached nearly 60 billion VND. During the World Cup 2026 period, specifically from 7/6 to 11/7, an estimated 20 billion VND was wagered.
