Police were called to Halstead High Street in Essex at 2 am on 10/9 after the incident; however, no arrests have been made to date.
Authorities are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
The building's wall belonged to a local funeral home. The facility's director reported that he was woken that night by a call informing him the building had been breached.
“The noise from the ramming was so loud I thought half the street woke up”, he said, expressing concern that the damaged wall might affect the deceased awaiting burial.
The funeral home is now operating normally, but phone and internet lines in the area were damaged.
The ATM operator has not yet disclosed the extent of the damage from the incident.
