On 9/7, Danh Huu, 38, was criminally detained by An Giang Provincial Police for investigation into murder.

According to initial investigations, on the evening of 6/7, a 42-year-old man visited Huu's home in Giong Rieng commune and invited him to drink alcohol. When Huu refused, an argument ensued between the two.

During the altercation, Huu went inside to retrieve a knife, then returned and stabbed his friend multiple times. The victim sustained severe injuries and died at the scene.

After the attack, Huu closed his door and went to sleep. The next morning, upon discovering the body, he informed the victim's family and then surrendered to the communal police.

The autopsy results determined the victim died from a severed artery.
