Zachary Prouty, 38, from Kentucky, was charged on 16/7 with rape, sexual assault, and sexual abuse, according to court records. The alleged incident occurred the night before the couple's wedding, which was scheduled for 18/10/2025.

Investigators stated that on the evening prior to the wedding, family and friends had dinner at a local restaurant before returning to the house where members of the wedding party were staying. The victim, a relative of the bride, reported that after everyone else went to sleep, she remained downstairs with Prouty.

The woman accused Prouty of kissing her multiple times without her consent. She stated that he then followed her into the kitchen. Due to her intoxicated state, she subsequently lost consciousness. The next morning, she awoke unclothed in an upstairs bedroom, with no memory of how she got there or what had transpired. Her clothes were found on the floor.

Believing she had been sexually assaulted, the woman sought a forensic examination at a hospital. On the same day, police obtained Prouty's DNA sample under a search warrant. Forensic results from the Pennsylvania State Police confirmed that this DNA matched the sample collected during the examination.

Prouty was arrested and later released on 50,000 USD bail. Despite the allegations, the couple's wedding proceeded as planned the following day. Prouty's next hearing is scheduled for 12/8.
