Tran Xuan Tay, Chairman of Nha Trang Ward People's Committee, confirmed the incident on 30/1.
On the morning of 30/1, a video circulated on social media depicting a group of foreign tourists clashing with several Vietnamese individuals armed with weapons. In the footage, one foreign man attempted to kick a youth but missed and fell. Immediately, the group of youths, carrying iron sticks, charged and repeatedly struck the tourist, causing him and his companions to run away.
After running a short distance, the foreign man fell again and was relentlessly attacked by the group of youths. Other tourists shouted for help and attempted to intervene, but their efforts were unsuccessful.

This incident follows a similar altercation one month prior in Nha Trang, where bar staff clashed with foreign guests. During that event, one employee brandished a shovel in a threatening manner, while another used a plastic chair, prompting the tourists to flee.
A bar representative stated that apologies had been extended to the tourists, and the involved individuals were reviewed and disciplined.
Nha Trang remains a popular international tourist destination, renowned for its beautiful bay, white sand beaches, clear blue waters, and mild climate. In 2025, the region welcomed approximately 14,8 million overnight visitors, including 4,6 million international guests, generating an estimated total tourism revenue exceeding 60,300 billion VND.
