Gunfire at wedding to 'create firecracker sounds'

Truong Van Bach, 39, admitted to bringing a gun to a neighbor's wedding in Huong Pho commune, firing it into the air to "create firecracker sounds and add to the fun."

On the afternoon of 1/12, the People's Procuracy Region 1 - Ha Tinh approved the decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Bach. He faces charges of illegal storage and use of military weapons, under Clause 1, Article 304 of the Penal Code.

According to the investigation, on the evening of 13/11, Bach attended a friend's wedding in Pho Hoa village, Huong Pho commune, an area formerly part of Huong Khe district. A short while later, he went home, retrieved a handgun, concealed it on his person, and returned to continue drinking at the celebration.

While guests were chatting and singing, Bach pulled out the gun and fired it into the air, causing a loud noise. He then left the wedding and went home.
