On 29/11, the Hanoi City Police's Criminal Police Department announced the arrest of 19 individuals. They are being investigated for crimes including harboring prostitution, brokering prostitution, and purchasing sex from minors.
Police stated that numerous karaoke establishments and guesthouses in Phuong Quan hamlet, An Khanh commune, were engaged in prostitution activities. When a customer expressed interest, karaoke managers would summon sex workers from nearby accommodations to negotiate a price.
Upon agreement, the sex worker needed to notify and obtain approval from the manager. After confirmation, the karaoke venues would arrange for familiar taxis to transport both the customer and the sex worker to nearby guesthouses.
These guesthouses were equipped with external surveillance cameras for security. They only permitted familiar taxis or those with prior notification to enter and rent rooms.
