On 29/9, leaders of the Gia Lai Provincial Police Investigation Agency announced the initiation of a case of "humiliating others," under clause two, Article 155 of the Penal Code. This action followed the resolution of a complaint filed by Ms. Vu Phuong Thanh, 38, known by her pen name Gao.
According to the notice of resolution for the criminal information, issued on 21/9, Ms. Thanh alleged that since 2018, individuals in "antifan" groups on Facebook, Messenger, and Zalo have continuously posted and shared content. This content allegedly attacked and defamed her honor and dignity, impacting her personally and her family's business.
The notice of resolution did not yet mention the prosecution of any accused individuals.

Ms. Thanh directly accused a 37-year-old woman who used the Facebook account Tuong KN (now deactivated). This individual allegedly actively participated in several antifan groups, repeatedly posting and commenting with insulting content targeting Ms. Thanh. Documents provided by Ms. Thanh to the investigating agency include notarized records of numerous posts, attributed to the "Tuong KN" account from 2019 to 2022, which discussed her appearance, private life, family matters, romantic relationships, and business activities.
Ms. Thanh further alleged that this individual administered chat groups on Messenger, where her account was added, and she was continuously tagged in numerous messages. The complaint states that some of these messages contained vulgar language, insulted her appearance and private life, and also targeted her children.
In supplementary documents, Ms. Thanh claimed the individual continued to send messages and post aggressive content on Facebook and Zalo even after she filed her complaint. The accused also allegedly publicly shared Ms. Thanh's images, phone number, and some private information.
Beyond the allegations of defamation and insult to her dignity, Ms. Thanh also accused the woman of posting and spreading false information about her private life, finances, and business activities. She requested the investigating agency to consider potential signs of the crimes of Slander and Abusing democratic freedoms to infringe upon the interests of the State, and the legitimate rights and interests of organizations and individuals.
Vu Phuong Thanh, born in 1988, is known by her pen name Gao. She has published numerous literary works and has been active, writing on social media for many years.
