Le Trung Khoa indicted

Le Trung Khoa has been indicted by the Supreme People's Procuracy, one month after the Investigation Security Agency of the Ministry of Public Security initiated an investigation against him for opposing the State.

On 8/12, the Ministry of Public Security's online portal announced that the Supreme People's Procuracy issued an indictment against Le Trung Khoa. He faces charges of making, storing, disseminating, or propagating information and documents aimed at opposing the State of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, under Article 117, Clause 2 of the Penal Code.

Based on Articles 141 and 142 of the 2015 Criminal Procedure Code, the Supreme People's Procuracy requested defendant Khoa, 54 years old, from Thanh Hoa, to surrender at police or procuracy offices in Vietnam, or at Vietnamese representative offices abroad. This allows him to receive leniency from the Vietnamese State and exercise his right to defense under Article 60 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

Previously, on 8/11, Khoa and Do Van Nga (47 years old, from Gia Lai province) were investigated by the Investigation Security Agency of the Ministry of Public Security for the same crime. A wanted warrant was issued for Khoa on 5/12.

Expanding the case related to Le Trung Khoa, on 4/12, the Security Agency initiated an investigation and temporarily detained Pham Quang Thien. Thien, 47 years old, residing in Ha Noi, is the former Director of the Center for Technology and Multimedia Communications under the Government's Online Portal. He is being investigated for the same crime under Article 117.
