According to initial investigation, around 2 h on 28/6, Trinh was riding a motorbike home from Tam Ky ward. While passing through Phu Yen village, Chien Dan commune, Trinh was blocked by two young men, 28 and 25 years old, also on motorbikes. Minutes later, a 31-year-old man rode up behind them.
During the argument, the 28-year-old man attacked Trinh with a helmet. Trinh pulled out a fruit knife he was carrying and stabbed him repeatedly, injuring him and causing him and the 25-year-old man to flee. Trinh then continued to stab the 31-year-old man, causing severe injuries.
After the assault, Trinh used the knife to smash the motorbike's dashboard belonging to the group, then kicked the vehicle over. Seeing the 31-year-old victim severely injured, Trinh urged people to call an ambulance before taking the weapon home to hide it.
The two victims were taken to Quang Nam General Hospital for emergency treatment; one of them is in critical condition.
At the investigative agency, Trinh admitted to the entire act and voluntarily surrendered the weapon. Police are consolidating the case file for processing.
