Police in Jalisco state, western Mexico, are searching for this individual. At least five men were found tied to poles, with the word "ratero" (thief) written on their foreheads.
Some also had mustaches and cat whiskers drawn on their faces, while others had their mouths taped shut.
Warning signs were placed next to them, and stolen items were left nearby as evidence.
The first incident was reported in Lagos de Moreno city on 13/6, when a man was found tied to a lamppost with a cardboard sign containing the aforementioned message.
In the following days, four other men were found tied up in similar circumstances.
Some of the men appeared to have been beaten before being tied up, with noticeable cuts, bruises, and bloodied faces.

Local media reported that this mysterious figure, frustrated by ineffective law enforcement, decided to take matters into his own hands, much like the character Batman. He was thus dubbed "Mexican Batman".
Police stated they had recorded five similar incidents this month and are searching for those responsible.
Emergency services rescued the victims and treated their injuries. It is unclear if any of them are being investigated for the alleged thefts. No arrests have been made.
Prosecutors emphasized that "at this point, they are victims" because they were assaulted and unlawfully detained. Batman's "vigilante justice" actions, therefore, continue to generate considerable debate.
Mexico has long struggled with high rates of violent crime, with over 36,000 violent car thefts recorded nationwide in 2023 alone.
The theft of motos and bicycles is also widespread, with stolen vehicles often used to commit other crimes. In Mexico state, authorities estimate that about 70% of crimes involve motos.
