Dao Minh Thuan, 36, has been criminally detained for intentionally causing injury after allegedly chasing and kicking his girlfriend's ex-husband off a motorbike. The incident, which occurred in Krong Pac commune, Dak Lak province, led to the victim's hospitalization.
Krong Pac commune police announced Thuan's detention on 6/8. He has a previous conviction for robbery and completed a prison sentence about one year ago.

Initial investigations reveal that on the afternoon of 3/8, Thuan was at his girlfriend's drink stall in Krong Pac commune when her ex-husband arrived. An argument ensued between the two men. The ex-husband then took a bottle of water from the counter and left.
Believing he had been provoked, Thuan pursued the man on his motorbike. Upon reaching Provincial Road 09, near Phuoc An 6 village, Thuan rode close behind and kicked the man in the back, causing him to lose control of his motorbike and fall onto the road.

According to the investigative agency, after the fall, Thuan continued to approach the victim, pulling him up with the intention of further confrontation. He only left the scene when nearby residents intervened. The victim was subsequently taken to emergency for treatment.
The investigative agency is continuing to clarify the incident.
