On 16/7, Mau, 45, was taken into criminal custody by An Giang Provincial Police for investigation into intentionally causing injury resulting in death.

Initial investigation revealed that on the evening of 14/7, Mau and Ngo Huu Tien, 50, were drinking at a duck coop in Ba Chuc commune. Le Van Do, 38, arrived on a motorbike, demanding ducks for a drinking session. An argument ensued due to Do's vulgar language.

Do subsequently returned twice, armed with a knife, to curse, challenge, and attack. During the ensuing scuffle, Tien struck Do with a bamboo stick, causing him to drop the knife. Mau then used a tam vong stick, hitting Do in the back of the neck, which proved fatal.

After the assault, Mau and Tien fled the scene and disposed of their weapons. Realizing the victim was dead, they both surrendered to Ba Chuc Commune Police.

The case remains under investigation.
