Bac Ninh Provincial Police have detained Vi Van Cuong, 40, from Lang Son, for investigation into murder after he allegedly stabbed his 46-year-old girlfriend multiple times. The incident occurred on the evening of 25/1, leading to the victim's death from severe injuries. Cuong was detained on 26/1.
Initial investigations revealed that Cuong and the woman, from Thai Nguyen, were in a relationship and shared a rented room in Ninh Khanh residential group, Nen commune. On the evening of 25/1, Cuong saw his girlfriend dining with another person and followed her.

When she entered Sky 2 karaoke bar in Nui Hieu residential group, Nen commune, Cuong went inside and called her out to talk. Around 20h that evening, at the parking lot outside the karaoke bar, the two had a conflict and argued loudly.
While his girlfriend was on her phone, Cuong went to his motorbike, retrieved a pre-prepared pointed knife wrapped in a black jacket, and returned. According to camera footage, Cuong stabbed her approximately 10 times, causing her to collapse to the ground. As the victim tried to get up, he continued to stab her nearly 20 more times.
When someone intervened, Cuong stopped, threw the knife over a fence into a nearby empty lot, and fled. Residents immediately took the victim to Bac Ninh Provincial General Hospital 2 for emergency treatment, but she succumbed to her severe injuries.
