Man fined for nude posing in front of university in Ho Chi Minh City

A 34-year-old man was administratively fined after posting nude photos and videos of himself posing in front of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology on social media.

On 30/1, Dong Hoa Ward Police announced they had issued a decision to fine a 34-year-old man, a resident of Ho Chi Minh City, 7,5 million VND. The penalty was imposed for violating regulations concerning information, communication, and network information security.

Previously, images appeared on social media showing the man unclothed, striking offensive poses in front of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology campus, located in Dong Hoa Ward. The posts, accompanied by many sensitive comments and statuses, caused public outrage and negatively impacted the educational environment and public order.

Through verification, police determined that the man had repeatedly uploaded images and videos containing obscene content, deemed inappropriate for traditional customs and good morals.

During questioning by authorities, the man admitted to the violations. The ward police issued a fine report, demanding the removal of all offending content and a commitment not to reoffend.
