On the evening of 29/12, residents near Bau Bang Industrial Park in Bau Bang commune were alarmed by desperate screams coming from a row of rented rooms. Upon investigating, they discovered a 30-year-old woman from An Giang dead outside her door, showing multiple injuries and surrounded by blood. The victim's 37-year-old boyfriend, from Lam Dong, was then seen rushing out of the accommodation, getting on a motorcycle, and fleeing the scene.

Nearby residents informed authorities that the couple had been in a relationship for a long time. It was reported that prior to the murder, the man had waited at the door of their rented room for the woman to return from work. An argument then occurred, reportedly over their relationship.

As police secured the crime scene and began their murder investigation, they received information regarding the suspect. He had crashed his motorcycle into the rear of a parked container truck approximately three kilometers from the rented rooms, resulting in his death.
