Yesterday morning, a group of 5 adults and one child from Dong Nai traveled by automobile to Tran Phu street in Vung Tau, seeking a coffee shop with sea views. They parked their automobile in front of a vacant lot, opposite a clay pot rice restaurant owned by Mr. Vu. Staff from the restaurant then asked them to move their vehicle.
In a video recorded by the tourist group, Mr. Vu is seen grabbing a chair and lunging, threatening to hit and kicking a woman from the group before being restrained. He then approached one young man holding a brick, challenging him to strike his head. Following this, Mr. Vu chased and struck one young man from the tourist group with a shovel, resulting in a swollen and bruised face.
Upon receiving the report, Vung Tau ward police quickly arrived at the scene to intervene and invited those involved to the station for questioning.
Initial verification indicates the incident stemmed from a conflict over automobile parking. Both parties exchanged words, leading to a physical altercation. Some individuals used weapons, while others fought with bare hands, pushing and shoving, disrupting public order in the residential area.
Through investigation, the police agency summoned Vu, Nghi, and Nghia for questioning.
Ho Chi Minh City Police advise residents facing disputes in daily life, business, or traffic to remain calm and resolve issues in accordance with the law. They caution against using violence or weapons, as such actions could lead to criminal charges. Residents are urged to report any acts disturbing public order to the nearest police agency.
