Man processed for distorting information about arrest of triple murder suspect in Dong Nai

A 31-year-old man was identified for using social media to distort information regarding the Dong Nai Police's arrest of a suspect in the murder of three people in Dak Nhau Commune.

On 8/5, the Dong Nai Police Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department issued an administrative violation against a man from Dong Hoa Ward, TP HCM. He was cited for providing and sharing false or distorted information that slandered agencies, organizations, or individuals, violating clause 1, article 101 of Decree 15/2020/ND-CP.

Authorities had earlier discovered the man using a TikTok account, "Vu Rau", to spread distorted information. This content misrepresented the outcome of Operation 1025G, which led to the arrest of Le Sy Tung, a suspect in the murder of three people. The posts claimed the individual arrested by Dong Nai Police was "not the real culprit" and that "the evidence was not authentic".

During questioning by security forces, the man admitted his offense. He voluntarily removed the TikTok posts and pledged not to repeat the violation.

The Dong Nai Police Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department urged all organizations and individuals engaging in online activities to strictly adhere to legal regulations. Violators of point d, clause 1, article 101 of Decree 15/2020/ND-CP, which covers administrative penalties in postal services, telecommunications, information technology, and electronic transactions, face fines ranging from 10 to 20 million VND.
